Factors Affecting Duration of After-Effect

• Duration increases with:

  • brightness contrast
  • absolute brightness of display
  • increase in duration of observation (max effect after two minutes of observation). Robinson, 1972. (See Taylor for disconfirming evidence.)

• Duration decrease with size of display
